Who I work with Miriam VandenBrink Psychologist

I work with diverse people with all kinds of backgrounds. I have experience working in clinical settings including local not-for-profit counselling clinic, elementary school, correctional institution, and private counselling practice. In each of these settings I have been honoured to work with clients of various ages, cultures, identities, backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, and life experiences. I am particularly drawn to working with adults and couples who experience barriers and marginalization in their daily lives.

I think of myself as a generalist—I work with many different people navigating a wide range of challenges. Some of the areas I support include:

  • Anxiety, stress, and burnout

  • Depression and mood concerns

  • Grief, loss, dying, and death

  • Life transitions and major decisions

  • Dating, relationships, and commitment questions

  • Relationship struggles and trust breaches

  • Communication, conflict, and healthy boundaries

  • Family difficulties

  • Intercultural, interfaith, 2SLGBTQIA+, and non-monogamous relationships

  • Building positive coping skills

  • Ageing and later-life transitions

I work with adults and couples. If you don’t see yourself reflected here but would like to consider working with me, please send me an email, and we can discuss if I might be a good fit for your needs.
